Found across North America and Europe, it’s actually an edible fungus but when you’ll hear it’s more common name, you’ll never want to eat it.

If you look at the picture, you’ll see a white fungus covered with what looks like drops of blood. Nobody performed any ritual here though; the ‘blood’ is actually a juice that is produced by the plant itself. And where does the red color come from? Well, the fungus has a scarlet pigment to get the red color although the color of the fluids might sometimes be pink or orange.

Because of the fungus’s eerie look, it is called ‘bleeding tooth fungus’. And it has an unpleasant odor too.
