Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt, in a salt grinder (table salt would work too but it won’t dissolve as fast)

Instructions

  1. Gather heavy whipping cream, butter, (both at room temperature), sugar, and salt.
  2. Add 2 cups of sugar to a large saucepan. Put on medium heat and wait for the sugar to start to melt.
  3. Then begin whisking. Stop whisking and check for an amber, caramel-ish color when it turns to liquid.
  4. Add butter, then stir until it’s mixed in evenly.
  5. Remove from heat and slowly stir in cream and a tablespoon of salt.
  6. Let the pan sit for about ten minutes and cool.
  7. Pour into jars and cool to room temperature.
  8. Store in the fridge for up to 3 – 4 weeks.
