Owned by renowned vegetarian chef Amanda Cohen, and known to be the first meat-free chef to compete on Iron Chef America, Dirt Candy’s original location had only 18 seats, and was open for 6 years. In that time, it was the only vegetarian restaurant to earn 2 stars from the New York Times in 17 years, and is also one of the very few to be recognized by the Michelin Guide. Signature dishes include hush puppies with maple butter, and brussels sprout tacos.
